Framing the question
We establish the decision to be made and the evidence required to support it. Scope, assumptions and constraints are defined before research begins.
Our firm
Clarendon Intelligence was founded in 2019 by Eleanor Voss and is based at 12 St James’s Square, London.
The firm is deliberately small, with a core team of fourteen. Senior practitioners remain directly involved in every engagement from the initial framing of the question through to final recommendations. Typical assignments combine primary research, multi-source intelligence and structured analysis, and are designed for decision-makers who require evidence that can withstand scrutiny.
We serve boards, executive committees and strategy teams at large corporations, financial institutions and major media groups.
Our senior team is drawn from McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Oliver Wyman, Kantar, Ipsos and major corporates.
Principles
We form conclusions from the available evidence and test them without preference for a predetermined answer.
Each research design is proportionate to the question, transparent in its assumptions and able to withstand scrutiny.
We protect sensitive questions, information and sources through disciplined handling at every stage of an engagement.
Experienced practitioners remain directly involved from the initial framing of the question through to the final recommendation.
We distinguish evidence from interpretation and set out the implications for decision-makers in precise terms.
Engagement model
We establish the decision to be made and the evidence required to support it. Scope, assumptions and constraints are defined before research begins.
We select methods suited to the question and the available evidence. The design sets out sources, lines of enquiry and standards for testing findings.
We collect primary and secondary evidence and examine it across sources. Contradictions, limitations and gaps are made explicit rather than concealed.
We present the findings in a form suited to the decision. Recommendations follow from the evidence and distinguish established conclusions from remaining uncertainty.
